My Sweet Pet./ I have deferred sending/ this hoping to hear from you and/ now conclude to send this. Your Ma/ told me that your time was very/ much occupied, therefore I presume/ you have been obliged to postpone/ writing to me till a more conven/ ient season. I shall, content my/ self by knowing you are well, and/ hail the appearance of a letter/ with joy./ Miss Williams was married on/ tuesday[sic] night. Matthews went to/ the wedding. We called on Miss/ Lyons Monday night. Like her very/ much. Miss Mary Clay is to/ be married to night[sic]. Reception/ in her own house. Maggie/ is going to the Reception./ Carrie's dress is before me/ it is corn colored [tarleton?] with an/ over skirt of the same tinted/ with rose color. It is very/ beautiful./ Ah, they call me./ Good by/ my Little one/ Eternally Thine/ Lela./ Thursday night./
