미시 USA측에서는 안전을 위해 미리 LAPD 경찰국에 집회 취지를 알리고 경찰로부터 정식으로 집회허가를 받았다. 현장에는 집회에 참가한 시민들 보호를 위해 여러 대의 순찰차가 대기하면서 제복을 입은 경찰과 사복형사들이 거칠게 집회를 반대하는 보수단체 측의 동향을 카메라에 담는 등 현장을 예의주시했다.
사복형사들은 보수단체 인사들의 행동을 일일이 카메라로 담으며 예의주시했다.
