Toba Baskets
These Toba baskets are made from plant fiber and then dyed. When Miller was gifted these items, the Toba were making some styles of baskets specifically to sell to tourists, they themselves instead used the more practical woven bags and mass-produced substitutes (plastic or metal buckets and bags) for carrying their goods.
Cashinahua Baskets
The Peruvian Kaxinawรก used local palm bark and vines to construct the baskets they used for everyday transportation of items. Some baskets were made by men but used by women in their gardens, others were joint efforts with men creating the vine frame and women weaving the body of the basket with bark.
